Abstract: | Mortality is high in lung abscess complicating corticosteroid therapy. This article presents case reports of two patients in whom occult lung abscess developed while high dosages of prednisone were being given for bullous skin diseases. In both cases, gradual reduction of the corticosteroid and intravenous administration of penicillin resolved the lung lesion without compromising therapy for the primary disease. |
