Results of vestibular neurectomy in the treatment of vertigo. Apropos of 38 cases

We present a series of 38 patients, operated by vestibular neurectomy, during 1968-1987, for peripheral vertigo intractable to medical therapy of different origin. This study includes a retrospective analysis of the results on vertigo, hearing, tinnitus and postoperative complications. Then, the operative indications and surgical approaches are discussed.
