| Abstract: | Localization of calmodulin ( CaM) and its changes in cell cycle of cultured rabbit aortic smooth muscle cells ( ASMC ) were studied by Protein-A gold method. CaM was mainly distributed in mitochondria and nuclei, but also in smooth endoplasmic reticulum, the surface of glycogen particle, myofilament bundle, cell membrane and nuclear membrane. In cytoplasm, the contents of CaM at Go, 9h and 12h were 100%, 143% and 121% respect ively; while in nucleus, the contents of CaM at Go, 9h and 12h were 100%, 83% and 113% respectively ( taken Go content of CaM as 100% ) . |
