Abstract:Objective To study the changes of peripheral blood T-lymphocyte subsets after Utilin "s" treatment in COPD patients.Methods Fifty COPD patients were given conventional treatment only and another fifty COPD patients were given additional Utilin "s" treatment.The treatment consisted of Utilin "s" 1.72μg intramuscularly,once oa week for 16 times.The T-lymphocyte subsets in peripheral blood were examined with flow-cytometry both before and after treatment in these 100 patients as well as in 50 controls. Results Before treatment,the CD3~+,CD4~+ T lymphocytes and CD4~+/CD8~+ ratio in the 100 COPD patients were significantly lower than those in the controls(P<0.05 ),while CD8~+ T lymphocytes were significantly higher(P<0.05 ).After sixteen weeks’ treatment,the CD3~+,CD4~+ T lymphocytes and CD4~+/CD8~+ ratio increased significantly in Utilin "s" treatment group,while CD8~+ T lymphocytes decreased significantly(P<0.05).The CD3~+,CD4~+,CD8~+ T lymphocytes and CD4~+/CD8~+ ratio didn’t change significantly in the patients without Utilin "s" treatment(P>0.05).Conclusion There is T-lymphocyte subsets proportion imbalance in COPD patients,and Utilin "s" can regulate such imbalance to some extent.
