男性嗅觉功能与嗅沟深度分析

摘    要:目的分析健康男性嗅觉功能与嗅沟深度的关系。方法对38位男性健康志愿者(年龄19~45岁,平均35.07岁)用嗅棒测试法进行嗅觉功能测定,包括阈值、气味分辨和气味识别鉴定3部分检测。检测之后立即进行嗅沟MRI,通过MRI经球后冠状切面对嗅沟深度进行测量,对嗅觉功能与嗅沟深度进行直线相关分析并对左、右侧嗅沟进行配对t检验。结果嗅觉功能与左侧嗅沟深度相关(r=0.570,P=0.000),未观察到与右侧相关性;右侧嗅沟较左侧深(t=0.454,P﹤0.05)。结论在嗅沟深度与嗅觉功能之间存在联系,嗅沟深度一侧化与嗅觉系统功能一侧化相关,嗅觉系统具有右侧优势;MRI测量嗅沟深度对评估嗅觉功能具有一定意义。

Abstract:OBJECTIVE To analyze the relation between the depth of the olfactory sulcus and the olfactory function in healthy male subjects.METHODS Thirty-eight healthy,male volunteers(age range 19-45 years,mean age 35.07 years)were included in this study.Olfactory function was measured by "Sniffin-Sticks" test battery including odor thresholds,odor discrimination,and odor identification.Magnetic resonance imaging of the olfactory sulcus was performed immediately following olfactometry.The depth of the olfactory sulcus of all subjects was measured in the plane of the posterior tangent through the eyeballs using the coronal view brain MRI.Statistical significance of values of olfactory function and depth of olfactory sulcus was evaluated using the two-tailed Pearson's test.The statistical significance of differences between the mean values of depth of right olfactory sulcus and depth of left olfactory sulcus was determined with Student's t-test.RESULTS Olfactory function correlated significantly with left-sided depth of the olfactory sulcus(r=0.570,P=0.000);no such correlation was seen for the right side.Olfactory sulcus depth was found to be significantly deeper on the right side compared to the left side(t=0.454,P﹤0.05).CONCLUSION There is certain relation between depth of olfactory sulcus and olfactory function.Further,lateralization of olfactory sulcus depth may correlate to functional lateralization in the olfactory system.Thus,it may be carefully speculated that adjustment of right olfactory system is prior to left olfactory system and it is significant to measure the depth of olfactory sulcus by Magnetic resonance imaging for olfactory function evaluation.
