Abstract: | Neurotrophins are known to be key regulators of neuronal survival, differentiation, function and plasticity in the developing and adult rodent brain. A novel role for neurotrophins has been emerging from recent research, that of motogenic and chemoattractant factors for several populations of migrating neuronal precursors in the developing mouse brain. The aim of the present article is to summarize and discuss the studies that have contributed to the existing body of evidence. |
