Abstract: | We describe a case of coronary stenting in which accidental detachment of the Palmaz-Schatz stent induced thrombotic occlusion of the coronary artery. This case suggests that careful consideration of the risk involving coronary occlusion is mandatory on deciding the therapeutic strategy of the cases in which the unexpanded coronary stent cannot be retrieved following unsuccessful deployment. © 1996 Wiley-Liss, Inc. |
