IMPROVING NUTRITION AMONG ASIAN CHILDREN IN BRITAIN
Abstract:Vitamin D deficiency, iron deficiency and growth failure are common among Asian children in Britain partly due to religious laws restricting animal products, excessive reliance on cow's milk and starchy foods and ignorance of nutritionally-sound alternatives. Fortification of chapati flour with vitamin D and modifications of traditional Asian vegetables and oils are advocated.
