Advances in therapeutic research of lipopolysaccharide-induced acute lung injury

Acute lung injury (ALI) which is resulted from endotoxemia principally, can develop into acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) in a short time. Because of its poor curative effect and high mortality, it is the focus in clinical and basic science research all the time. In recent years, researchers have done lots of experiments on anti-inflammatory,anti-oxidant and anti-coagulation respects, but largescale clinical tests are deficient or no efficient. At present, the major method to treat ALI/ARDS--mechanical ventilation has great progress in the research of ventilatory modes. And cell-based therapy provides a new way to treat ALI/ARDS.
