| Abstract: | The changs of arginine vasopressin ( AVP) contents in some brain areas after injection of L-glutamic acid(L-Glu) into supraoptic nucleus (SON) and electroacupuncture (EA) were observed with RIA. The results showed that the content of AVP in SON was not much changed, AVP in paraventricular nucleus increased at 30min but decreased at 60 min after injection of L-Glu into SON. EA after injection of L-Glu into SON would reduce the content of AVP in PVN at first but increase the content at 30 min after stopping EA. AVP content in nucleus magus raphe and locus coerluse also increased after injection of L-Glu into SON and EA. The above results suggested that the effect of analgesia and enhancement of EA analgesia induced by stimulation of SON did not relate with AVP in SON but AVP in PVN might be involved in the modulation of pain. |
