Abstract:Aim To observe the protective effect of saponins of panax ginseng(SPG)on carbon tetrachloride-induced hepatic fibrosis rats.Methods Rat liver fibrosis model was established by subcutaneous injection(s.c.)of 50%CCl4 twice a week lasting for 12 weeks.SPG(40,80,160 mg·kg-1)was treated gastrogavage(ig)daily since the 7th week.Contents of ALT,AST,MDA and SOD were determined by absorption spectrometry;HA,LN,PCⅢ and CIV level in serum were determined by radioimmunity.Hepatic tissues stained with hematoxylin and eosin(HE)were prepared for histological analysis to liver injury.CTGFmRNA expression in liver tissue was detected by RT-PCR technology.Results Compared with model group,SPG(40,80,160 mg·kg-1)significantly decreaied ALT,AST,HA,PCⅢ,CⅣ,MDA contents.Meanwhile,the pathological injury of hepatic tissues were revesed,and CTGF mRNA expression,while the level of SOD stepped up.Conclusion SPG has remarkable protective effects on liver fibrosis in rats.
