Abstract:Objective To study the effects of functional movement screening (FMS) and supporting corrective action training on actual combat training of the Armed Police so as to contribute to improving the feasibility and efficiency of training. Methods Ninety soldiers of special operation forces (SOF) from the Armed Police were selected as the subjects, who were randomly divided into two groups: the experimental group and the control group. There was no significant difference in height or weight between the two groups. FMS was conducted in both groups. In the course of three months training, the experimental group spent 10 minutes on action correction via interventions during warm-up before each training, while the control group warmed up as usual before the two groups were trained under normal conditions. Results After three months of action correction via interventions, the performance of the experimental group improved more significantly than that of the control group. Among the fifteen test items, the results of eight items were better in the control group than those of the experimental group before the intervention training, while the scores of FMS in the two groups were close. After intervention training, the FMS score of the experimental group was 1.2515 higher than that of the control group. Among the fifteen test items, the scores of four items in the control group were higher than those of the experimental group, while the scores of eleven items in the experimental group were higher than those of the control group. The overall performance improved more significantly in the experimental group than in the control group, and the difference was statistically, significant (P<0.05). The results showed that the early EMS and corrective intervention had a significant effect on the training performance of the SOF soldiers of the Armed Police. Conclusions The results of this study show that functional movement screening and corrective interventions can contribute much to improving the training quality among SOF soldiers of the Armed Police.
