| Abstract: | The treatment of eye diseases with acupuncture may follow either the classical tradition of Chinese medicine or more modern regimens which do not address the individual over-all situation but use fixed acupoint schemes for specific eye disorders. This modern form of treatment has been brought forward since 1980 by two Danish acupuncturists, Freddy Dahlgren and John Boel. Their treatment options are based on a combination of microsystem acupuncture: ECIWO, NPSO, SU JOK, YNSA and auriculotherapy.This article focuses on both regimens of treatment.More scientific research is needed to evaluate which form of treatment, which acupoints and acupoint combinations, and which forms of stimulation show the best results in treating auricular disorders with acupuncture. |
