Analysis of Sentinel Surveillance on HIV/AIDS among Male Patients in Sexually Transmitted Disease(STD)Clinics in Wuhan from 2014 to 2018

Objective To investigate the HIV/AIDS surveillance of male patients in sexually transmitted disease(STD)clinics in Wuhan,to analyze the target population's high-risk behaviors and their infection status of HIV,HCV and syphilis,and to provide a basis for formulating scientific prevention measures of AIDS.Methods In accordance with the National AIDS Sentinel Monitoring Implementation Plan,continuous sampling was used to conduct a questionnaire survey on all eligible subjects during the monitoring period from 2014 to 2018 and blood samples were collect for testing.400 people were monitored each year,with a total sample size of 2000 cases.The chi-square test was used to compare the differences in awareness of AIDS knowledge and results of behavioral monitoring in each year.Results Male patients in STD clinics were mainly 19~56 years old,accounting for 91.20%of the total population,with an average age of 35.80±12.55 years old.In each year,for two questions"Can a person infected with HIV see it from the outside"and"Does mosquito bites transmit AIDS?",the correct rate were low(<80.00%).The average awareness rate of AIDS-related knowledge was 75.10%.The knowledge awareness rate has been increasing year by year after 2015,and the difference in awareness rate within 5 years was statistically significant(χ²=25.32,P<0.01).The average rate of having sex with prostitutes in the last 3 months was 37.70%.The average rate of having sex with temporary partners in the last 3 months was 49.70%.The average positive rates of HIV,syphilis and HCV in the past five years were 2.80%,19.50%,and 1.45%respectively.Conclusion The awareness rate of AIDS knowledge among male patients in STD clinics has increased in recent years,but the awareness rate of certain knowledge points is still low.The high-risk sexual behaviors and HIV and syphilis positive rates of this population are still high.It is necessary to strengthen publicity and promote education and preventive interventions to reduce the spread of STDs and AIDS.
