Bibliometric Analysis of Medical Devices Assessment Based on CiteSpace

Objective: This paper expounded the differences between domestic and international through the bibliometric analysis of literature in medical device assessment, so as to provide reference and suggestions for domestic researchers. Methods: CiteSpace was used to analyze literatures database from China National Knowledge Infrastructure and Web of Science^TM in terms of the number of published papers, research hotspots and research cooperation status etc. Results: China’s international publications were less than 7% of that of the United States. In terms of regional cooperation, the centrality of the United States, Britain and France was greater than 0.1, while that of China was only 0.01. The key words quality of life etc, whose centrality was greater than 0.1, were the focus of international research. In terms of international institutional research cooperation, the centrality of the University of Toronto and UCLA was 0.11 and 0.15 respectively. Eleven of the top 14 international authors were clinicians. According to the results of this search, there were few literatures on the premarketing evaluation of medical devices. Conclusion: China’s research was relatively weak, the scope of research was relatively single, and there was a lack of communication and cooperation between research institutions and researchers. Affiliated medical college was an important research institution, and the main researchers were clinicians. The assessment of medical devices at home and abroad was mainly reflected in the post marketing.
