Legionella pneumophila serogroup 14 isolated from patients with fatal pneumonia. |

| Abstract: | Two Legionella-like organisms, one isolated from postmortem lung tissue and the other from a bronchial aspirate, were shown by growth, physiologic, and genetic characteristics to belong to the species Legionella pneumophila. Subsequent serologic testing indicated that both strains belonged to a new serogroup, serogroup 14. |
