Abstract:Objevtive: The study of anti-diabetic effect and related mechanism of Rehmannia glutinosa oligosaccharides(ROS) under the guide of the theory of neuroendocrine-immuno modulation(NIM) was reviewed in this paper. Results: ROS showed the preventive effect of the glucose- or adrenaline- induced hyperglycemia and the hypoglycemic effect in alloxan-induced diabetic rats. ROS also improved the impaired glucose metabolism in thymectomized and aged rats. Conclusion: ROS is a new component with hypoglycemic effect from Rehmannia glutinosa.
