Analysis on the correlations between female hormones,receptors and pelvic organ prolapse

Abstract:Objective To explore the correlations between female hormones,receptors and pelvic organ prolapse(POP),provide a reference basis for clinical diagnosis and treatment.Methods From December 2015 to December 2018,19 patients with POP were selected from Yiwu Municipal Maternal and Child Health Care Hospital as observation group,43 patients without POP were selected as control group.Chemiluminescence immunoassay was used to detect the levels of serum estradiol and testosterone in the two groups.HE staining method was used to observe collagen fibers of pelvic floor tissue in the two groups.Immunohistochemical method was used to detect the expressions of estrogen receptor and androgen receptor in pelvic floor tissue(vaginal wall,round ligament,cardinal ligament,and sacral ligament).Results There was no statistically significant difference in serum estrogen and androgen levels between observation group and control group(P>0.05).The level of collagen fiber in smooth muscle cell of pelvic floor tissue in observation group was significantly lower than that in control group,the positive expression intensities of estrogen and androgen in pelvic floor tissue in observation group were significantly lower than those in control group.Conclusion The effect of female hormones on pelvic floor supporting tissue is mainly mediated by receptor expression level.Female hormone receptor is closely related to the occurrence of female POP.
