A Clinical Study of GANKESHU KOUFUYE in the Treatment of Acute Tracheitis

The clinical effects of GANKESHU KOUFUYE in the treatment of acute tracheitis and chronic tracheitis accompanied acute bout in 236 cases of patients were reported. Acute tracheitis and chronic tracheitis accompanied acute bout belong to exogenous disease including exogenous wind-cold on the exterior according to the theory of traditional Chinese medicine- accumulation of phlegm and heat in the lung syndrome of 236 cases, 161 cases were divided into four groups; 1) 46 cases of patients with acute tracheitis accompanied acute bout received GANKE-SHU KOUFUTE ( I group); 2) 38 cases of patients with acute tracheitis accompanied acute bout received Jizhi syrup ( II group); 3) 42 cases of patients with chronic tracheitis received GANKESHU KOUFUYE ( III group); 4) 35 cases of patients with chronic tracheitis received Jizhi syrup (IV group). The effective rates of I group and II group were 89.1% and 71/0%, respectively, P<0.05; the effective rates of III group and IV group were 88.1% and 65.7%, respectively, P<0.05. The differences between I group and II group, III group and IV group were significant.
