Analysis of risk factors for lower extremity vascular disease in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus

Objective To investigate the development and risk factors of lower extremity vascular disease in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.Methods 238 cases with type 2 diabetes mellitus were checked by lower limbs by Doppler;then the HbA1c、FBG、TG、LDL、VLDL、HDL、HOMA-IR and BP were compared between group A(without lower extremity vascular disease) and group B(with lower extremity vascular disease),these indexes also were analyzed by the method of logistic regression to evaluate their relationship with lower extremity vascular disease.Results ①The occurrence rate of lower extremity vascular disease among type 2 diabetes mellitus was 75%.②The occurrence of lower extremity vascular disease was closely correlated with age、course of disease、systolic pressure and the levels of FBG、TG、LDL、VLDL、HDL、insulin、HOMA-IR(P<0.05 or P<0.01).Conclusion Hyperglycemia、hypertension、dyslipidemia and insulin resistance were the risk factors of lower extremity vascular disease in patients type 2 diabetes mellitus.
