| Abstract: | We tested the hypothesis that the concentration of prolactin in the liver of the lactating female rat is critically related to her release of the maternal pheromone. The data supported this hypothesis and enabled us to provide an account, more complete than before, of the physiological events that lead to pheromonal emission. |
