| Abstract: | Objective To study the effects of the extract of miracle fruit （MFE） on blood glucose in streptozotoein-induced type Ⅱ diabetic rats. Methods Diabetic rat models were established by bonus injection of streptozotoein （STZ, 55 mg/kg, ip）, and were divided into different groups, which were further ig administered for 5 weeks at the dose of MFE 0.10,0. 05,0. 025 g/kg respectively. Then changes in the total condition, body weight, fasting blood glucose, the level of glycosylated hemoglobin were observed and tested. Results MFE could improve the total condition, effectively prevent body weight loss, significantly decrease blood glucose and glycolsylated hemoglobin. Conclusion It is indicated that MFE have obvious hypoglycemic action in STZ-induced type Ⅱ diabetic rats. |
