| Abstract: | Gout is a kind of purine metabolic disturbance disease, and commonly seen in clinical practice. It usually occurs suddenly with features of acute onset, redness, swelling, hotness and pain of the affected joint with restricted movement. It has a tendency of recover by itself within several hours, days or weeks. Most cases of gout attack repeatedly with severe pain. Western medicine doctors have no way to cure it radically but mainly treat it with anti-inflammatory and analgesic medication which will cause serious toxic and side effects. Recently, the authors have treated 30 cases of acute gouty arthritis by surrounding needling and bleeding, and obtained satisfactory therapeutic effects. The report is as follows. |
