Abstract: | We treated 20 cases of carpal tunnel syndrome is 12 patients who were undergoing hemodialysis therapy for chronic renal failure. In all patients the arm involved had been used for a fistula. There was no correlation with the renal diagnosis and the duration of hemodialysis therapy. The cause of the syndrome has been debated; however, one factor does not give rise to symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome. All of the factors discussed in this article, acting in concert, may be causes of carpal tunnel compression. Surgical intervention successfully relieved all symptoms. |
