Abstract: | The incidence of melanoma continues to increase. In the absence of a defined and preventable etiology, early recognition and proper management offer the best hope for prolonged survival and cure. Clinically suspect lesions must be biopsied for diagnostic confirmation and histologic information. Reliable prognostic information can be gained from histologic and clinical parameters, which are described. |
