The medical quality evaluation and continuous improvement system needs to be improved constantly. The quality control index is an element that objectively evaluates the quality in a quantitative way. The establishment of the medical quality control index can promote the improvement of the nursing quality management level. The study expounded the constructing principles, screening criteria, construction process, index content, meaning and characteristics of the index system of the medical quality control index for nursing specialty (2020 edition), pointed out the limitation of the index system, and put forward some suggestions from two aspects of development and application, thus improving quality control index system, improving the quality of medical treatment and nursing.
