Abstract:Objective To investigate the correlation between changes in cellular immune responses and progression of severe bronchial asthma. Methods Ninty-five patients with severe bronchial asthma who were treated in Anyang District Hospital and Henan People′s Hospital from May 2017 to May 2018 were selected as the study group; and 95 healthy people who were examined in Anyang District Hospital and Henan People′s Hospital during the same period were selected as the control group. T helper cells 1 (TH1), Th2, Th17 and regulatory cell (Treg) ratio were assessed. Interleukin-2 (IL-2), IL-4, interferon-γ(IFN-γ), IL-10, IL-17, transforming growth factor-β(TGF-β), IL-22 mRNA and protein expression levels were also recorded. The blood CD3+, CD4+, CD8+ and CD4+/CD8+ levels were compared. Results The proportion of Treg and Th1 cells in the study group was significantly lower than that in the control group (P<0.05); and the proportion of Th2 and Th17 cells was significantly higher than that of the control group (P<0.05). The Th1/Th2 in the study group was significantly lower than that in the control group, and the Th17/Treg was significantly higher than the control group (P<0.05). The levels of CD4+/CD8+, CD8+, CD3+ and CD4+ in the study group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). The expression levels of TGF-β, IL-2 and IFN-γ protein in the study group were significantly lower than those of the control group, and the expression levels of IL-22, IL-17, IL-4 and IL-10 were significantly higher than those of the control group (P<0.05).
