Hospital Accreditation Process in Thailand and Its Enlightenment to China

Hospital accreditation is an effective means to promote the continuous improvement of medical quality. The development process, the core idea, the standard framework, the assessor's selection and training,the accreditation process and cycle, and the accreditation results of the Thai hospital accreditation certification were provided. Its characteristics were pointed out which included a focus on continuous improvement and risk management, diversity of accreditation, embracing the idea of great love, and extensive evaluation standard refining, etc. Based on the comprehensive understanding of the hospital accreditation system in Thailand, it put forward some thoughts on the hospital accreditation in China, such as docking with the medical insurance payment system, strengthening the construction of the reviewer system, and paying attention to reflecting the functional positioning of the hospital.
