Expression of transgelin and trasngelin2 in colorectal carcinoma and its prognosis significance

Objective:To investigate the relationship of transgelin(TAGLN) and transgelin 2(TAGLN2) expression in colorectal carcinoma tissues and the clinical pathological characteristics and prognosis of the patients.Methods:Eighty-nine cases of colorectal cancer surgical resection samples were collected from 2012 to 2013 in Affiliated Tumor Hospital of Zhengzhou University.The expression of TAGLN and TAGLN2 was assessed by immunohistochemistry.The relationship between TAGLN,TAGLN2 and clinicopathological features and prognosis of CRC patients combinedthe clinical data.Results:The positive expression rate of TAGLN in colorectal cancer tissues was 60. 7%(54/89),which was significantly higher than 38. 2%(34/89) in adjacent tissues,with statistically significant differences(P<0. 05),and the expression of TAGLN was related to TNM staging,tumor differentiation,Ki67,lymph node metastasisand distant metastasis(allP< 0. 05). The positive expression rate of TAGLN2 in colorectal cancer tissues was 69. 7%(62/89),significantly higher than that in adjacent tissues 31. 5%(28/89),and the difference was statistically signif-icant(P< 0. 01),and the expression of TAGLN2 was significantly correlated with the degree of tumor differentiation,Ki67 and distant metastasis in colorectal cancer patients(allP< 0. 05). The correlation analysis showed that the ex-pressions of TAGLN was positively correlated with TAGLN2(r= 0. 219,P= 0. 039). Kaplan-meier survival analysisshowed that the survival time was related to tumor differentiation,TNM stage,Ki67,distant metastasis and the expres-sion of TAGLN and TAGLN2(allP< 0. 05). Cox multivariate analysis showed that TNM stage,distant metastasis,TAGLN were independent factors influencing the prognosis of colorectal cancer patients(allP< 0. 05).Conclusion:To CRC patients,the expression of TAGLN is associated with TNM stage,tumor differentiation,Ki67,lymph node me-tastasis and distant metastasis while TAGLN2 is associated with tumor differentiation,Ki67 and distant metastasis.TNM stage,distant metastasis and TAGLN were independent prognostic factors in CRC patients.
