Application of self - reporting defects analysis meeting in nursing safety management of emergency departments

Objective To explore the effects of self - reporting defects analysis meeting applied in nursing safety nlanagement of emergency departments and avoid the risk of emergency nursing. Methods The self - reporting nursing defects analysis team in emergency department was established. This team developed the voluntary and non - punitive self - reporting system of nursing adverse events. It would analyze and discuss the self - reporting defects regularly, put forward suggestions and prevention measures, so as to optimize the process of nursing work and reduce the incidence of nursing adverse events. Results The rate of initiatively self - reporting nursing defects increased, and the incidence of nursing errors reduced （ P 〈 0.01 or P 〈 0.05 ）. Conclusion The self - reporting defects analysis meet- ing is helpful to improve the safety awareness of nurses and their ability to foresee risks ,thus to effectively reduce the incidence of nursing errors.
