Imaging features of solid pseudopapillary tumor of pancreas

Objective To investigate the CT and MR findings of pancreatic solid pseudopapillary tumor,and to improve the correct diagnosis rate of the disease.Methods The CT and MRI manifestations of 9 patients with SPTP who were proved pathologically in our hospital were analyzed retrospectively.CT and MRI were performed in 2 cases.6 cases were only examined with MRI and 1 cases were only examined with CT plain scanning and contrast enhanced scanning.Results Most of them were round or oval in shape.Tumors were located at the head and neck of pancreas in 2 cases,and at the body and tail of the pancreas in 7 cases.The diameters were 2.5~12.0 cm.Tumors were divided into three types:solid in 3 cases,cystic solid in 5 cases,cystic in 1 case.1 case with egg shell calcification can be seen.8 patients in the MR examination,2 cases with high signal on the T₁WI,suggesting that the tumor bleeding.Contrast enhanced scanning showed the solid component and cystic wall were enhanced.And the strengthening degree of tumor was manifested as gradual enhancement.But the degree was lower than that of normal pancreas.Conclusion Pancreatic solid pseudopapillary tumor imaging performance has a certain characteristic CT and MRI,combined with clinical data,which can provide accurate diagnosis.
