Clinical effect observation of short-term low-dose glucocorticoid in adjuvant treatment of mycoplasma pneumonia in children

Objective To observe the clinical effect of short-term low-dose glucocorticoid combined with azithromycin in adjuvant treatment of mycoplasma pneumonia( MPP) in children. Methods Selected 80 children diagnosed with MPP from June 2018 to June 2019 in the Affiliated Hospital of North Sichuan Medical College and the Guangyuan Central Hospital in Sichuan Province. According to whether short-term low-dose glucocorticoids were used or not,they were divided into 40 cases in the study group and 40 cases in the control group. The control group was treated with azithromycin alone,and the study group was treated with short-term low-dose corticosteroids on the basis of the control group. The treatment effects,cough relief time,fever time,lung signs relief time,hospitalization time,re-admission rate due to MPP within 90 days,and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of the study group was 95. 00%,which was higher than 80. 00% of the control group( χ²= 4. 114,P = 0. 043);The cough remission time,fever reduction time,lung signs remission time,and hospital stay in the study group were shorter than those in the control group( P < 0. 05);The rate of re-admission due to MPP within 90 days of the study group was lower than that of the control group( χ²= 5. 165,P = 0. 023);There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups( χ²= 0. 457,P = 0. 459).Conclusion Compare with the routine use of azithromycin alone,short-term use of low-dose glucocorticoids combined with azithromycin can effectively relieve the clinical symptoms of children with MPP,shorten the hospital stay and reduce the rate of re-admission due to MPP,and no increase in adverse reactions has been found. It is safe and stable high in nature,it is worthy of clinical application and promotion.
