Abstract: | A 58-year-old man required an emergency redo mitral valve replacement due to a rapidly deteriorating failure of the Carpentier-Edwards porcine bioprosthesis only a few days after the initial operation. The removed bioprosthesis showed that its three commissures had all peeled off each stent, which may have occurred within a short time, and caused massive, rapidly progressive trans-bioprosthesic regurgitation. |
