The Expressions and Clinical Significance of N-Cadherin Protein in Human Oral Cell Squamous Carcinoma

Objective To investigate the expressions and clinical significance of N-cadherin protein in human oral cell squamous carcinoma(OSCC).Methods The expressions of N-cadherin protein were detected by immunohistochemistry method in 85 cases of normal oral epithelial tissues,62 cases of atypical hypical tissues and 85 cases of OSCC tissues,and the relationship between its expression and clinicopathological features were analyzed.Results The positive expression rate of N-cadherin protein in OSCC tissues(89.41%) was obviously higher than that of atypical hypical tissues(58.06%) or normal oral epithelial tissues(15.29%),there were significant differences(χ2=19.420,93.596;P<0.001).In addition,the expressions of N-cadherin protein were not related to the age and gender of the patients(P>0.05),but closely related to differentiation,TNM grade and lymph node metastasis(P<0.05).Conclusion N-cadherin protein at high level may be closely related with the occurrence and development of OSCC.
