Effects of athletic training combined with sodium hyaluronate and glucosamine in the treatment of 34 cases of patients with knee osteoarthritis
Abstract:Objective:To discuss the effects of athletic training combined with sodium hyaluronate and glucosamine in the treatment of patients with knee osteoarthritis (KOA).Methods:Sixty-eight patients with KOA were selected and randomly divided into a control group and a research group with 34 patients each. The control group was treated with sodium hyaluronate and glucosamine while the observation group was additionally treated with athletic training besides the therapies for the control group. The clinical effects and the occurrence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results:The clinical effectiveness rate was obviously higher in the research group (88.23%) than in the control group (70.59%) (P<0.05). VAS pain scores and Lysholm knee scores were (3.52±1.14) and (81.31±0.74) in the research group and (5.43±1.21) and (68.74±0.87) in the control group after treatment, respectively, which were much better in the research group than in the control group (P<0.05). Eight dimensional scores including physiological and physical function, body pain, general health, social function, dynamic, emotional function and mental health were all higher in the research group than in the control group after treatment (P<0.05). There were no serious adverse reactions occurred in both groups during treatment. Conclusion:Knee function and quality of life of the patients with KOA can be effectively improved by variable velocity and resistance training combined with the injection of sodium hyaluronate and oral administration of glucosamine, which are worthy of application in clinic.
