Clinical observation of the effect of Tropisetron on laparoscopic cholecystectomy and biliary surgery of postoperative nausea and vomiting

[Objective] To investigate the effect of Tropisetron on laparoscopic cholecystectomy and biliary surgery of postoperative nausea and vomiting.[Methods] From March 2011 to June 2011,we collected sixty persons including elective surgery of laparoscopic cholecystectomy and biliary surgery,the patients were divided into control group and Tropisetron group,and each group included 30 cases.Before pulling out the endotracheal tube,intravenous 5mL of Normal Saline in the control group,and the Tropisetron group were given Tropisetron 5 mg.To observe the occurring of nausea and vomiting at 6,12,24 h and 48 h.[Results] comparing with the control group,nausea and vomiting was significantly decreased at 6 h and 12 h(P<0.05 or P<0.01) and there was no statistical differences at 24 h and 48 h in the Tropisetron group.[Conclusion] Intravenous 5 mg Tropisetron could have a good prevention to nausea and vomiting after laparoscopic cholecystectomy and biliary surgery.In order to achieve the effect within 48 h,we could add Tropisetron appropriately.
