Abstract:Objective To investigate the expression and function of Wnt/Frizzled pathway target gene C myc. Methods 32 cases with renal carcinoma and renal cancer cell strains (RCC 949 and GRC I) were studied by lumi light western blotting of nuclear crude extract and immunohistochemical staining. Results The expression of C myc was positive in renal cell carcinoma, the positive rate being 90.6%(29/32) and 75.0%(24/32) in tumor cell plasma and nuclear respectively. The expression of C myc protein in GRC I cell strain was higher than RCC 949 cell strain. Expression of C myc is related to tissue type and clinical type of renal cell carcinoma. Conclusion C myc ,as a target gene of Wnt/Frizzled pathway, plays important roles in carcinogenesis of renal cancer. It will be an important and valuable target in cellular signal treatment of renal cell carcinoma.
