| Abstract: | We report a case of acute ST segment elevated myocardial infarction associated with hydrochloric acid ingestion. Severe systemic acidosis developed shortly after massive hydrochloric ingestion; it was complicated by the presence of acute myocardial infarction. A new complication of acid ingestion is presented and a possible mechanism is discussed. |
