| Abstract: | Objective: To explore the significance of Maspin and P63 expression in benign and malignant pleomorphic adenoma.Methods: Immunohistochemical staining was used to evaluate the protein expression levels of P63,Maspin and Ki-67 in 81 cases including 57 benign pleomorphic adenomas and 24 malignant pleomorphic adenomas.Statistical analysis was done by using SPSS(version 16.0) to analyze the different expression and the relationship between them.Results: P63 and Maspin expression of benign pleomorphic adenoma was significantly higher than that of malignant pleomorphic adenoma respectively(P<0.01,P<0.05).Ki-67 expression was significantly correlated with P63(P<0.05).Conclusion: Both P63 and Maspin were sensitive as biologic markers for myoepithelial cells and were important markers of biological behaviour in the transitional process from benign to malignant pleomorphic adenoma. |
