Primary Ovarian Burkitt Lymphoma:a Case Report and Review of the Literature

Objective To investigate the criteria for diagnosis and differential diagnosis of Primary ovarian Burkitt lymphoma（BL）. Methods A case of primary BL of the ovary was studied by light microscopy, immunohistochemistry and hybridization for c-myc fluorescence in situ. Result Surgery discovered the tumor tissue was located in ovaties and invaded into uterus, appendix and epiploon. Follow-up,survival term was 105 days.Microscopic finding showed diffuse monotonous infiltration of medium-sized cells with basophilic cytoplasm coarse chromatin and conspicuous nucleoli.Many mitotic figures and star-sky phenomenon were noted. Immunohistochemical stain was positive for CD20,CD10,CD79a and CD10 nagative for more than 95% of cells were positive for Ki-67. C-myc detectine was positive. Conclusion Primary Burkitt lymphoma of the ovary is rare. It is useful to distinguish BL by histological feature and co-detection of immunohistochemistry and FISH.
