| Abstract: | The distribution of serotonergic nerves in gastrointestinal tract of guinea-pigs
was studied by using immunogold-silver staining method.The serotonergic neurons
and fibers were mainly distributed in the myenteric plexus and in the submucous
plexus.Occasionally the serotonergic neurons and fibers could be found in the
mucosa and the serotonergic fibers extended to the basal portion of 5-HT immuno-
reactive endocrine cells and seemed to be contacted with them. |
