Treatment of Penis Hypogenesis Before Puberty

Objective]To explore the treatment of children with penis hypogenesis. Methods] A total of 398 children with penis hypogenesis who had the normal level of sex hormone and the penis was lower than 1-2.5 standard deviation of normal penis and testis of children in this area were reviewed. All the 398 cases were treated with human chorionic gonadotrophin（HCG）. The length and diameter of penis and both vertical and horizontal diameter of testis were measured and compared among before and after treatment, and a month after treatment. Results]The 384 cases reached the normal value after a course of treatment. The 20 cases reached the normal value after two courses of treatment. And 13 cases were still abnormal but improved. The efficacy of 2 cases was not obvious. Compared with before treatment, the length and diameter of penis and both verti- cal and horizontal diameter of testis one month after treatment increased（ P 〈0. 001）. Conclusion] Shortterm HCG treatment is an effective therapy for penis hypogenesis of children and teenagers.
