The epidemiological and sociological analysis, current situation and our strategies of the epilepsy

The epidemiologic data to e pilepsy suggests that epilepsy was not only a pure medical problem, but also a s erious social problem. Epilepsy has a high incidence and prevalence rate, and it mainly harms juveniles and the physical labors. After a long period o f repetitive seizures, most epilepsy patients may probably be left with the decl ine of their intelligence and living abilities in society. Apart from these, it can also induce a higher suicide rate and other side effects in our society whic h will bring a heavy burden to patients themselves, their families and our count ry in many aspects such as mental, economic and sociological ones. Therefore, it can indirectly hinder the economic and social development of our country. It proves that taking comprehensive strategies in epilepsy's prevention and treatment has a close relationship with our country's economic construction. Both will sup plement each other. It is necessary for the government to pay high attention to it.
