Abstract: | The application of real-time sonography in the area of the tongue and floor of the mouth is described. Its value is examined by a sonographic-surgical correlation of 40 examinations. In 38 cases, the sonographic findings correlated well with the clinical picture, as well as with the intraoperative and pathologic findings. Ultrasound seems to be a practicable imaging method, especially with malignant infiltration of the tongue. |
