| Abstract: | Objective To investigate the effect of the mandibular stabilization splint in the therapy of anterior disk displacement with reduction.Methods Twenty-two patients with TMD were enrolled in present study. Twenty-four TMJs were diagnosed as anterior disk displacement with reduction ,and the other TMJs were normal. All of patients were treated by mandibular stabilization splint for three months. Fricton index and VAS pain analysia table were used to evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment.Results The statistical analysis showed that the difference before and after the treatment was statistically significant （P0.05）. CMI decreased from 0.21±0.08 to 0.08±0.04, and VAS index decreased from 3.45±0.47 to 0.86±0.54. All patients＇clinical symptons were significantly improved after treatment.Conclusion Clinical usage of mandibular stabilization splint to treat anterior disk displacement with reduction can be an effective method. |
