Prospect and challenge of artificial intelligence in anesthesiology

With the aging of the social population and the increasing amount of surgery, the workload of anesthesiologists is increasing, so that the risk of human error caused by fatigue increases. The emergence of artificial intelligence can not only assist anesthesiologists to carry out part of their clinical work, improve their work efficiency, optimize perioperative anesthesia management, but also build a large database and intelligent teaching, which brings new opportunities and possibilities for the development of anesthesiology. However, the application of artificial intelligence in anesthesiology is also accompanied by new risks and challenges: data collection, privacy protection, transparency of machine learning model and so on. This paper summarizes the prospects and challenges of artificial intelligence in anesthesiology to provide reference for the related research of artificial intelligence.
