Abstract: | Fasting modified the in vitro interactions between low density lipoproteins (LDL) and glycosaminoglycans. Calcium had a potentiating effect on these interactions. LDL-calcium-heparin interaction was dependent on the presence of sialic acid whereas LDL-calcium-chondroitin sulfate interaction was inversely correlated with cholesterol content. |
