任何科学,都具有历史和时代的局限性,都是无止境的,都是需要不断深入和扩展的。在某一个时间段或时间点,科学都是相对的或者说是局限的,是需要不断发展的,是与时俱进的,更多时候是需要互相借鉴和互相促进的。当我们从科学或者现代科学角度审视中医药学时,不难发现,中医药学不但是科学的,而且是具备了现代科学特征的,同时,与其他许多学科一样,中医药科学具有不容回避的历史局限性。新的时代特征和新的实践条件对中医药提出了新的要求。只有以开放创新的固有品格、自省自新的理论勇气和革故鼎新的扬弃精神,直面批评、发展创新、完善自我,才能重现辉煌。谋求中医药理论的重大突破,重建与规范中医药术语体系,正中肯綮。

On development and innovation of Chinese medicine within confines of science

Any science has historic and epoch limitations, and needs being expanded and developed. Chinese medicine, reviewed from the angles of science or modem science, is scientific and possesses the characteristics of modem science. Like other sciences, Chinese medicine has historic limitations at the same time. New epoch features and practical conditions have raised new demands to Chinese medicine. Chinese medicine should face criticism, and innovate and perfect itself in order to restore the former glory. A key in the development of Chinese medicine is to strive for major breakthrough in theory and rebuild and standard its terminology system.
