Abstract: | Granulomatous inflammation of the major salivary glands is very rare and may be due to obstruction. Little attention has been paid to this condition. The reaction is caused by extravasation of mucus, as seen in the common mucocele of the minor salivary glands. A case of granulomatous inflammation of the submandibular gland caused by obstruction is presented. The etiology of granulomatous sialadenitis is reviewed. |
