Abstract: | The majority of pregnant women experience nausea and vomiting during pregnancy. However, nausea and vomiting in pregnancy is not always nausea and vomiting of pregnancy (NVP). The differential diagnosis of nausea and vomiting in pregnancy can be extensive and the underlying cause can sometimes be difficult to diagnose. However, the timing or onset of the symptoms is important in differentiating NVP from other causes. A thorough history and physical examination, with appropriate investigations, should be carried out in symptomatic women. |
